The Whirlwind Roughrider is the result of a collaboration of designers across years and continents. In 2010 I led the team which redesigned the Roughrider, adding clinically valuable features and increasing durability while significantly reducing package dimensions.
Working at DEKA gave me the opportunity to help brilliant people build amazing things, very little of which I am free to disclose beyond publicly available images.
I had the honor of working with service delivery organizations and manufacturers in the US, the Philippines and South Africa and Indonesia to resolve competing priorities affecting the design of products for children with disabilities which affect mobility and posture. Prototyping at both child and adult scale facilitates differing and complementary feedback.
